Good food, reasonable prices, and non-chain. If you're in downtown and looking for a quick bite, thus us an excellent choice. Just be careful, Kiki's Bakeshop is right next door and very difficult to bypass. Your taste buds will love you for that, but your waist might not.
First time to eat here and found it to be excellent. I will definitely be returning to try other things. Service was excellent as well.
I enjoy trying that unique menu item at random restaurants. That being said, this was the most unique. Both buns on the burger were replaced by glazed donuts. The burger was very delicious. I didn't realize that the patty would be so large which made it more of a knife and fork burger but that was also due to the size of the donuts. My fries were good as well and the staff was very polite.
The Travelling Hobo is one of a half dozen restaurants in downtown Watkinsville, but hands down the one I visit most often. The Southwestern Salad with any of a number of their homemade dressings is my favorite meal--one I've eaten at least a half dozen times.
A coworker recommended this place when I was working in Athens. Definitely worth the short drive. Very inviting atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I had a Hawaiian bowl of some sort. They take a large bowl and put in a generous layer of rice, place a hand formed well seasoned,thick juicy burger on top of the rice. Add a fried egg to the top of the burger. Then cover the whole thing with a nice brown gravy. So good. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes. All of which looked great as they brought them out to the tables around me.
I love this place! I wish I would have tried it out earlier. I normally shy away from meat but felt I had to try the lamb with Tzatziki sauce. It was truly exceptional with feta and fresh veggies. The coleslaw was also quite good. The staff person I spoke with was very nice and efficient. I loved the atmosphere and plan to return.
